SHIRWAN (AGE 7)
A gentle boy who has learned to lift his head and sit upright
At six years old, Shirwan was lying on the ground, the only thing he could do. His family didn’t know how to support a child with cerebral palsy. His father and older brother worked odd jobs to keep the household running, his mother struggled with mental health challenges, and his ten-year-old brother became his main caregiver.
When he joined Ronahî, he was quiet and withdrawn, with little strength or language. Through months of gentle therapy and daily encouragement, he learned to lift his head, sit upright, and begin to speak. Now, he can speak full sentences slowly, use his hands, scoot around with strength, and fills the classroom with excitement and joy.
